The governor, who is running for re-election this year, says he wants to change the culture of the agency. Last week, he appointed Bobby Cagle as interim director.

Cagle will leave his position as commissioner of the Department of Early Care and Learning. He begins his new job Monday.

The governor also said DFCS will be separate from DHS and the head of DFCS will report directly to the governor instead of the commissioner.

(WXIA) -- Gov. Nathan Deal's office is preparing an announcement on changes to organizational structure at the Division of Family and Children Services, sources tell 11Alive's Rebecca Lindstrom.
