Always a Project: Third Time's a Charm

Over the past couple of weeks, I've been collecting your ideas for dressing up my garden entrance and you've share some really amazing ideas!!

Rain bells, wind chimes, paint, climbing vines... I can picture it all in my mind's eye!

I was perusing my Pinterest boards and was reminded of this lovely garden gate wreath that I found, courtesy of Funky Junk Interiors.

Special Adoption Hours Saturday at Macon Animal Control

Special Adoption Hours Saturday at Macon Animal Control

For only the second time in recent memory, Macon Animal Control will be open -- albeit briefly -- on Saturday, June 2. Many area residents interested in adopting a dog from the facility cannot get there during the shelter's normal weekday-only operating hours due to work or school. The special adoption event, planned for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.,  provides an opportunity for more adopters to visit the shelter, where time is rapidly running out for the animals.

The cats and kittens have all left the building. More than 40 dogs have left, too, headed for new lives with new families, or bound for rescue and a foster home while they keep looking for a family to adopt them.

Macon Animal Control shelter is shutting down June 6 for 3 to 5 days, and all of the remaining dogs at the shelter must be out by then or be killed.

It's Buttermilk Revival Time Again

It's Buttermilk Revival Time Again

Well time flies when you're having fun and it's that time again--Juliette Opry weekend.

This month we are proud to have Buttermilk Revival once again out of Athens, Georgia. A unique band with a unique name who won this years Athens Got Talent Contest.

Many of you may remember last year I wrote an article on the name. It seems I was fairly accurate as this band is a back to basic, homemade, hard driving Bluegrass band. Currently playing all over the state at many venues. Comprised of a group of friends from the greater Athens area, providing great music and humor for a fun filled family night of entertainment. Although Jody swears they come for the fried green maters, they love the Opry and performing.

Juliette Opry: What did he say their name was?

Juliette Opry: What did he say their name was?

Well it’s that time again, The First of the month is rapidly approaching and that means Juliette Opry time. I have been really busy so unfortunately I don’t have any great story this month (like I ever have).

This month we have a group out of Athens: "Buttermilk Revival ",Winners of Athensn got Talent --Kind of an interesting group, the banjo player is actually my neighbors' cousin. I checked them out on Facebook and Youtube. They are going to be great, but I just couldn’t get that name out of my head. Who thought up "Buttermilk Revival?"

I once heard about a band that was formed at a bonfire with a lot of adult beverages called, "Burning Urine."

Although I didn't think it was a great idea , I figured out where it came from. Well I could have asked Jody but that takes all the fun out of it so here is the Lizella twist:

Always a Project: Simplicity 1804

Did you make it by Hancock's this week? Simplicity and Butterick patterns were on sale for a steal!

I make it a point to get by every time they have a $1 pattern sale because the minute I actually need a particular pattern, it will be full price.

One of my purchases this week was Simplicity 1804, a very simple pattern with a lot of great options.
