Forsyth man dies after fight on road

A Forsyth man is dead after allegedly trying to get into a man's car and then fighting with his family.

The Monroe County sheriff's office says it happened around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday night on Smith Road. That's in North Monroe, near Johnstonville Road.

The release says Christopher Bunn tried to get into a Ford Explorer that stopped on the road containing a couple and their four children.

The sheriff's department says Bunn fought with the man, John Bevan, and tried to choke the woman, Terri Lynn Barbour. Authorities said Bunn also tried to pull one of the children from the car. The child was reportedly kicked in the chin by Bunn.

The driver held him until deputies arrived. But Bunn later died at the Monroe County Hospital.

So far, his cause of death is unknown. His body was taken to a GBI crime lab for an autopsy.

No weapons were involved in the fight, the release says.
