Body Found in Monroe County Woods | Families

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department is investigating an apparent suicide in a wooded area on Monday.

Lt. Tom Benson said the body was found off Rumble Road.

He said the body has been sent to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy and that the body has been identified. The person's name has not been released.

Sheriff Cary Bittick said the death was an apparent suicide.

Coroner Joey Proctor referred questions to the sheriff's department.
