Forsyth man dies after fight on road

A Forsyth man is dead after allegedly trying to get into a man's car and then fighting with his family.

The Monroe County sheriff's office says it happened around 9:20 a.m. Tuesday night on Smith Road. That's in North Monroe, near Johnstonville Road.

The release says Christopher Bunn tried to get into a Ford Explorer that stopped on the road containing a couple and their four children.

Corine Singleton bought two 15X The Money instant game tickets at Express Food Mart, 270 N. Lee St. in Forsyth.

One won.

She's collecting $150,000, according to a news release from the Georgia Lottery Corp.

"I went in and bought two, and I won," Singleton stated in the news release. "The clerk looked at the ticket, and I couldn't believe it."

Monroe County Board of Education recognized Mary Persons students Kelsea Carneal, Rachel Pope and Caroline Waldrep at its March 11 meeting for achieving perfect scores of 350 on the Georgia High School writing test.

All juniors attending school in Georgia take the test and are required to pass it as a requirement for graduation.
