Monroe County Hospital "Coke Floats for Hope" Relay for Life Fundraiser

We are  encouraging you and the community to gather up your loose change and join us for a  Relay for Life fundraiser: “Coke Floats for Hope” sponsored by Monroe County Hospital, featuring Jumpin' Joeys.

 

Who:  EVERYONE is invited

What:  Coke Floats for Hope

When:  Saturday, October 8th from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Where:  Monroe County Hospital's front lawn

Simply collect your loose change and fill up a soda bottle,bring it to Monroe County Hospital on Sat. Oct 8th from 10am-2pm to receive one free coke float and one kid’s activity pass to play with us at the hospital front lawn.  An activity pass will allow for unlimited play at a craft/art table, bubble fun station, face painting, jump/bounce inflatable, and more!

We will also be selling hot dogs with lots of fixings, chips, drinks, popcorn, and nachos so come hungry!

ATLANTA – Kay A. Floyd, chief executive officer of Monroe County Hospital in Forsyth, was recently elected to the Georgia Hospital Association’s Center for Rural Health Board of Trustees to fill the central regional trustee position, a two-year term serving the interests of 19 small rural hospitals in Georgia.

That's according to a Georgia Hospital Assocation news release.

Floyd has served as CEO of the hospital since July 2009. She holds administrative oversight and is responsible for all areas of hospital performance, including operations management, fiscal management, quality of care, regulatory compliance and patient and staff satisfaction.

Join us for a day of information about healthy living and community resources!

Admission is free. Screenings will include blood pressure checks, vision and hearing, flu shots, and much more!

Low Cost Rabies Vaccinations This Weekend

‎2011 Fall 4-H Rabies Clinics - This Saturday, Sept. 17th"
Low cost rabies shots, help stop the spread of rabies & help Monroe County 4-H!
Rabies is still widespread in Monroe County. Georgia health law requires that all dogs and cats, three months of age and older, must be vaccinated to protect them and their owners.

These clinics are set for Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. throughout the county in cooperation with Dr. Jeff Davis of the Plantation Centre Animal Hospital in Macon, Dr. Butler Caldwell of Caldwell Veterinary Hospital in Forsyth and Monroe County Cooperative Extension.

4-H members will assist Dr. Davis and Dr. Caldwell with these clinics.
