Juliette Man Wins $285K in Lottery | News

A Monroe County man won $285,908 from the Georgia Lottery.

According to a lottery news release, 65-year-old Hiram Davis of Juliette claimed his prize Thursday after he realized he was the lucky winner of the Jan. 16 Fantasy 5 drawing. 

"I remembered that I bought a ticket," he said, according to thr release. "I looked in my billfold and checked the numbers while I was at the grocery store."

Davis is a retired subcontractor. He told the lottery that he and his wife, Jo, plan to buy a new truck with their winnings.

Davis bought his winning ticket from the Rum Creek Convenience Store, at 8703 Highway 87 in Juliette. 

The winning numbers of the Fantasy Five drawing were: 8-11-20-29-36.
