FORSYTH, Ga. -- Convicted murderer Andrew Allen Cook has asked for steak and potatoes for his last meal, specifically baked potato and potato wedges. He also requested fried shrimp, lemon meringue pie and soda.
Cook is scheduled to die by lethal injection at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson.
He was sentenced to death for the January 1995 murders of Mercer University students Michelle Cartagena and Grant Hendrickson at Lake Juliette in Monroe County.
Cook is set to be the 54th person executed in Georgia since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated the death penatly in 1973.
