How to Write for 13WMAZ's Where You Live

Where You Live is WMAZ's hyperlocal feature. This means that we are helping bring you more community-specific news more often.

We have websites for these communities:

Dooly-Macon County
Warner Robins
obins AFB

These community websites are a place for you and your community members to share information.

To join our team and share with folks just like yourself, all you have to do is email us your email address and name whereyoulive@13wmaz.com

From there, we set up an account for you. This account lets you log in to your community site and post photo galleries, concerts, community events, 100th birthday parties, your concerns, latest creative projects, how-to advice and anything else you want people in your area to know.

Once you have an account, here are some examples of how you can stay involved Where You Live:

  • Where You Live is your space for public conversation.  Feel free to comment on others' articles. New ideas can crop up just from simple conversations with others.
  • See something bizarre around town? Take a (cell phone) photo and post it to your community site! Maybe someone else will know the background story.

  • Like" us on Facebook to include your local news, breaking news and weather warnings and watches in your Facebook feed.

Donald Wayne Hanson

Donald Wayne Hanson, 43, of Jefferson, GA passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013. The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 25th from 6:00 – 8:00 at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, GA.

Eunice Irene Prather Wilkerson

Forsyth . . . Eunice Irene Prather Wilkerson died Sunday, February 24, 2013. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, Wednesday, February 27, 2013,  at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with graveside service to follow at 2:00 p.m.  at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 992 Mr. Bethel Road, McDonough, GA 30252. The Reverend Renfroe Watson and The Reverend Alex Stroud will officiate.

Carrie Irene Johnson Wheeler

Carrie Irene Johnson Wheeler, age 91, passed away on February 24, 2013 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. A Memorial service will be held at Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street on February 27, 2013 at 12:00PM, with The Reverends Jody and Julie Long officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, North Gate. Ms. Wheeler was born on April 12, 1921 in Sparta, Georgia and graduated from Sparta High School in 1939. She moved to Macon in 1947 where she was employed at Robins AFB in what was then the Directorate of Procurement. Ms. Wheeler was a member of the First Baptist Church of Christ and the Believer’s Sunday School Class. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, crafts, gardening, and shopping. She was an avid bridge player and a regular follower of Atlanta Braves baseball. Ms.

Edward E. McLeod


Funeral services for Wallace Edward McLeod, 80, of Cochran who died Saturday, December 29, 2012 in the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Monday in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Wallace was born in Dodge County, the son of the late Ivey Franklin McLeod and

Annabell Dorsey McLeod. He was a graduate of Georgia Southern College with a B.A. degree in accounting and retired from Robins A.F.B. with 34 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea where he received a Purple Heart.  He was a member of Cochran Masonic Lodge and Cochran First Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping and just being in the woods.

Angela Smith Stake

Angela Smith Stake, 57, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 2, 2012.

Angela was born on December 18, 1954 in Athens, Georgia. She was a true animal lover and treated her dog, Maggie, like her daughter. Angela was an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed spending time drinking hot tea on the back porch and watching birds.

Ruben Glenwood Parden


Forsyth - Ruben Glenwood Parden died Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Dames Ferry Baptist Church, with the Reverends Lee Brown and Sam Waldron officiating. Burial will be at Dames Ferry Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends between 6 PM and 8 PM on Thursday at Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 2951 Flowers Rd. S, Suite 211, Atlanta, Georgia 30341.

Mr. Parden adored his wife, children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was a veteran of World War II and was a Normandy Beach survivor. He was of the Baptist faith, and his favorite hobbies were woodworking, fishing, and gardening.
