New Animal Shelter Up and Running

Monroe County Georgia's brand new Animal Control Shelter is open and running!

It is located at 157 L Cary Bittick Drive Forsyth, GA.

Be sure to update your contact information for Animal Control! Their new phone number is 478-994-7976.

Animals are available for adoption. Shelter hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

Local Church to Bless Pets

Forsyth Presbyterian Church holds a Blessing of the pets on Sunday, October 2 at 3 p.m.

Refreshments for humans and water for pets will be on hand.

Any donations will benefit Save A Pet.

The church is located at 63 North Jackson St.

Does anyone know this precious dog? She showed up at Wadley Rd in Bolingbroke & is super friendly. She is posted at the store in Bolingbroke. Please contact Margie Lewis at 714-5610, 994-6453 or 960-6871 if anyone knows who this dog belongs to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Ending: Dogs Found

Monday, we asked for your help in finding Jari Green's dogs, Crispy and Smitty, who had been missing since the storm of last Monday when a knocked a tree down which fell on the dogs' fencing.  

We were notified Wednesday afternoon that Crispy and Smitty have been found and reunited with their owners!

 

Low Cost Rabies Vaccinations This Weekend

‎2011 Fall 4-H Rabies Clinics - This Saturday, Sept. 17th"
Low cost rabies shots, help stop the spread of rabies & help Monroe County 4-H!
Rabies is still widespread in Monroe County. Georgia health law requires that all dogs and cats, three months of age and older, must be vaccinated to protect them and their owners.

These clinics are set for Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 8:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. throughout the county in cooperation with Dr. Jeff Davis of the Plantation Centre Animal Hospital in Macon, Dr. Butler Caldwell of Caldwell Veterinary Hospital in Forsyth and Monroe County Cooperative Extension.

4-H members will assist Dr. Davis and Dr. Caldwell with these clinics.
