OK, I know it’s not exactly boot weather right now (Hello, flip flops!!!), but it is the perfect time of year to make sure your boots will be ready for walking in the fall.

Tall boots have a habit of falling over and if you don’t wear them often you run the risk of getting creases.  You can buy specially made boot shapers that range in price from $5 to $15.  Yikes! If you are boot lover, that can get pricey!

Cut Out the Junk - Mail, That Is

Who would like to get less junk mail in your mailbox? Me, me!! Here are a few ways you can reduce the number of unsolicited credit card offers, catalogs, yellow pages and random of other flotsam that arrives in your mail box daily.

But first a little reminder, that if you have donated to a group or purchased a product from a company, legally they can still send you mail until you specifically tell them not to.  The following options will help with the unsolicited selling and sharing of your name.

Another quick tip is to setup junk email account (think Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo) for doing requests like this just in case your email falls into the hands of a spammer.

REYNOLDS/WARNER ROBINS/UPATOI – Flint Energies turns 75 years old today, according to Sr. Vice President Jimmy Autry. The not-for-profit member-owned electric cooperative received its charter from the Rural Electrification Administration (REA) on Apr. 23, 1937.

“Today brings back a lot of great memories,” said Autry. “But the most important memory is that of members working together to create a lasting organization to meet their own needs.”

Celebrating its 75th year of service in 2012 (incorporated in 1937), Flint Energies www.flintenergies.com provides energy services to residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural members in parts of 17 central Georgia counties.

Monroe County Residents Win Prizes During Member Appreciation Month

Robins Federal Credit Union recently wrapped up its Monroe County Member Appreciation Month, held during the month of March, where many Monroe County residents won big.

Robins Federal held weekly prize drawings at its Forsyth branch, located at 76 E. Johnston Street, during the month, and a winner was seclected for a different prize each Friday. The winners were as follows:

 

  • Johnnie Harris, Forsyth - $100.00 cash
  • Maggie Hogan, Forsyth – a $100.00 Walmart gift card
  • Neal Tamblin, Forsyth – a day of golf at River Forest
  • Valerie Harris, Macon – a shopping spree at The Shoppes at River Crossing
  • Patricia Smith, Forsyth – a pair of Braves tickets, plus a Braves parking pass
