Vote: Best Place to Watch a Ballgame

Rodeo Comes to Forsyth

A rodeo will come to Forsyth May 6 and 7. 

Find it at the County Recreation Complex.

The rodeo begins at 8 p.m. both nights.

Admission for adults is $8 and $5 for children.

This is presented by Forsyth Lions Club, Monroe County Saddle Club and Georgia High School Rodeo Association.

The County Recreation Complex is located off of I-75 at Exit 188.

6th Grade Students Organize 5k

Seven students of the Sixth Grade class at St. George's Episcopal School have organized a Moovin’ It for Heifer International 5K Run at The Rock Ranch. The race will be Saturday, April 16 at 10 a.m. 

The annual Rock Ranch Easter Egg Hunt will take place immediately following the run. 

Proceeds from this will benefit Heifer International, an organization that buys farm animals for poverty stricken families around the world. 

Business sponsors include Special Needs Construction, Scanlon Engineering and United Bank.

Low Country Boil at FUMC to Benefit Relay For Life

Eat in or take out, but get your Low Country Boil dinner at Forsyth United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Saturday, March 19 for a $10 donation for adults and $5 for children 12 & under.

There will also be a hot dog option available for the chlidren.

The event lasts from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Please purchase your tickets by Wednesday, March 16th at the FUMC church office.

Monroe Co. Special Olympics

The Monroe County Special Olympics are scheduled for Friday, March 25 on the Mary Persons High School track.

The events will take place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., with most activities taking place in the morning.

Mary Persons High School track is located at the Montpelier Rd. Entrance in Forsyth.
