I-75 Open After Three-car Accident

A three-car accident closed two lanes on I-75 northbound Friday morning around 11:15 a.m., a Monroe County Sheriff's Office news release says.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office's preliminary investigation, Hee Chung Eun, 50, of Statesboro, attempted to change lanes, swerved to avoid a passing car and lost control of her Sienna minivan, spinning around and coming to rest across lanes three and four.

Naif Sameer Ibrahim, 26, of Saudi Arabia, who was driving a rented Dodge Charger, quickly applied his brakes in order to avoid striking Eun's minivan. Vyen Nguyen, 30, of Moultire, struck Ibrahim's Charger in the back causing the Charger to spin and strike a tractor trailer driven by Ruby Roberts, 64, of Michigan.

Two juvenile passengers in Nguyen's minivan were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No charges are expected for Eun at this time.
