Weather Siren Test Set for Saturday

 

Monroe County Emergency Management Agency will be conducting tests of the outdoor warning sirens in Culloden, High Falls, Juliette and the Recreation Department in Forsyth on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Noon.

That's according to Monroe County EMA Director Matt Perry.

This is the first time the sirens will have been activated.

Residents in a one-mile radius will be able to hear the siren and should not be alarmed.

If unfavorable weather conditions are present, the test will be postponed to a later date.

That's according to the National Weather Service.

A freeze warning remains is in effect from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. Friday for Monroe County.

* Temperatures:  in the upper 20s to lower 30s.

* Timing:  3 am to 8 am Friday morning.
