Forsyth - Ruben Glenwood Parden died Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Dames Ferry Baptist Church, with the Reverends Lee Brown and Sam Waldron officiating. Burial will be at Dames Ferry Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends between 6 PM and 8 PM on Thursday at Hart’s at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 2951 Flowers Rd. S, Suite 211, Atlanta, Georgia 30341.

Mr. Parden adored his wife, children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was a veteran of World War II and was a Normandy Beach survivor. He was of the Baptist faith, and his favorite hobbies were woodworking, fishing, and gardening.

Mr. Parden is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Lou Parden of Forsyth; children, Evelyn Gibson (Reggie) of Macon, Jerry Parden (Martha) of Macon, Penny Griffin (Paul) of Newnan, and Danny Parden (Lucy) of Forsyth; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the Medical Center of Central Georgia Third Floor Renal West, Southeast Ambulance Service, Forsyth Dialysis, and Pine Point Hospice.
